HEAT PROOF SUMMER HOLIDAY MAKEUP/ LUCIA ABUIN
If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I am in Puerto Rico right now having a summer beachy vacation!
This makeup look is perfect for a hot summer night, or during the day if you feel like wearing some makeup while on vacation, as it will last really well on the skin.
The secret to long-lasting makeup, besides long-lasting formulated products, is thin layers on the skin, as this will melt into the skin and not move!
While we are on the subject of summer, I would like to take the opportunity to talk about my favorite sunscreens. I did post a picture of them yesterday on my Instagram and I’m going to talk about them a bit more today.
–La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Comfort Lotion SPF 50+: I’ve been using La Roche Posay sunscreens for years and I love love love them. They are very lightweight and great for sensitive skin. This one in particular is a lotion, so it’s not as lightweight as the other ones they have, but I still find it light enough to use on the face and body, and works great under makeup. Leaves a bit of a white cast, but not much at all, and it is broad spectrum, which means that protects your skin from both, UVA and UVB rays.
–Paula’s Choice Resist Super Light Daily Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30: this is amazing if you have oily skin because it dries down really fast without leaving any greasy residue whatsoever. It is slightly tinted, but doesn’t really cover much. However, this also means that it leaves no white cast. I find this one works really well as a primer, because, while it doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, it does moisturize and it’s packed with antioxidants.
–Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40: this one is a funny one, because it is completely clear, but the texture is that of a pore-filling primer, so it will act as a good base for your makeup while making it last longer. I use this a lot under makeup when I am going to be using dewy makeup products.
